OUR CLIENT COMPANY
Our client is one of the leading European companies within the retail store design and fit-out sector. The client portfolio includes many major European chains. The concept is simple: they deliver turnkey solutions for the retail industry, including design, product sourcing as well as building and mounting services. Their business is growing in the UK, hence this key position has become available.

THE JOB
This is a new role reporting back to the European headquarters.
As Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing construction of stores in the UK from the beginning to the hand over to the client. You will meet the requirements of local authorities regarding permits, sourcing of sub-contractors, other external suppliers and the construction phase. Preparation of quotations and calculations will be a vital of part of the position. Likewise, you will make sure the project meet their deadlines. Each year, you will be responsible for several projects, lasting 2-4 months respectively, from receipt of order until the time the store is ready for hand over to the client. Therefore, you will manage multiple projects simultaneously, including the construction of the sites, where a Site Manager will report to you. You will continuously be in touch with authorities, sub-contractors and your European colleagues.

Primarily focus areas:
Dealing with the local authorities reg. building permissions, landlords, etc.
Securing contracts in all aspects
Dealing with sub-contractors and other external suppliers
Render and negotiations with subcontractors
Coordinating project flow with European HQ
Preparation of quotations and calculations
Responsible of construction from A-Z
Informing on project status externally and internally
Have existing network of contractors
Traveling nationwide, Ireland for projects etc.
Projects mainly in London area

THE CANDIDATE
This role calls for some very specific criteria:
Retail project manager experience, proven record of successful project within retail
Experience in the UK market / London
Ideally 10-15 years of experience, but less would be considered if the candidate could show real understanding of the sector.

Education:
Architect or engineer
Project Management as Prince or similar
(Construction Architect)

Brand know how within 3 months
Successful in construction of shops in individual trade contracts
Prove record of successful gross revenue in construction projects

LOCATION
There is no UK office, so you will need to work from a home office that is based within 100kms of central London. There will be extensive travel, mainly around London and the South East, but also beyond, and also involving regular trips to HQ. It is estimated that around 40 nights would need to be spent away from home annually.

SALARY AND BENEFITS
Annual Salary will be up to GBP45,000, along with a car allowance, pension and the benefits you'd usually expect from a significant employer.

INTERVIEW PROCESS AND STARTING DATE:
Our client seeks to appoint as soon as reasonably possible. Initially there will be a screening interview with Martin Ellis at RSE Group Ltd. Thereafter will be a Skype interview from Europe and a face-to0face interview in the UK. The appointment will be made after travel to the European HQ.
