Overview of basic duties
These include, but not limited to -
• Adding/Changing (Extending) Material Master Information
• Adding/Changing BOM's
• Adding/Changing Routings
• Request & add Purchase Information Records (PIR'S) for subcontract processes
• Creating purchase requisitions for tooling, materials, equipment etc.

Manufacturing Engineer
• Determine optimum manufacturing method
• Creation of long text (Excel) routing for Assemblies/Sub Assys/Components
• PDF of long text routing to routing folder in drawing library

• Investigation into root cause / 5 Whys
• Creation of rework method
• Creation of long text rework method & SAP rework order
• Allocation of replacement parts, stock withdrawal.
• Implementation of preventive actions/routing changes (SAP & Long text)

Manufacturing Engineer
• Define requirements for new projects & tooling improvement
• Review concept tool designs to determine if fit for manufacture
• Review final assembly fixture model
• Review/investigate existing tooling with a view to improve ease of use and or fit for purpose
• Troubleshoot existing tooling
• Working with tooling suppliers to develop understanding of requirements
• Produce tool drawings for sub contract manufacture using CAD
• Checking & approving assembly/sub assembly & component drawings prior to release for manufacture

ECS - Engineering Change Control
• Review drawing change
• Implement required change - change Excel long text & SAP routing ops if required.
• Review current WIP and modify as required
• Review stock and rework against QN (to be raised)

Manufacturing Engineer
Responsibility for Shop Cell (Ducting/Space/FMT)
• Attend daily DLA
• Support manufacture in cell
• Process cell QN's - reworks, liaising with Engineering, Quality & Sales
• Resolve tooling problems
• Method improvement with a view to improve efficiency & cost savings

NPI - New Product Implementation
• Working with design on New Product Implementation reviewing concept designs for feasibility of design with current manufacturing techniques
• This will also involve SAP, Routings, Tooling, Drawing approvals, ECS sheets, etc.

Manufacturing Engineer
Savings Projects
• Specific savings projects allocated by Op Ex and or Management team that have been flagged as a benefit to the business
• Completion of A3 project control sheet to outline project - current state, future state, cost savings/benefits and timing plan.

• Obtain quotations from a number of suppliers to provide evidence of choice of equipment giving the best spend for value and return on investment
• Produce Capital expenditure justifications for new equipment, linked to product improvement, savings and customers' requirements

Manufacturing Engineer
• Initial inspection on receipt & determination of liability
• Produce repair estimate & customer quotation
• Select standard repair scheme or create custom repair
• Create SAP repair notification, sales order & service order
• Prepare shop package & issue parts from stock
• Book to stores on completion & pass documentation to Sales for dispatch
• Create internal order paperwork for review

• Review customer RFQ from Customer Services, liaise with Engineering, Quality, Purchasing & Production as required and advise Bid/No bid
• Review current manufacturing information or determine manufacturing method from similar products
• Produce bill of material to determine manufactured, BOF, material & subcontract items required
• Task Purchasing to obtain component, material and sub contract process costs as required
• Compile estimate to give recurring & nonrecurring costs (tooling etc.) & supply to Customer Services
