We are looking for a highly organised orders clerk and IT support assistant to join our optical team in Poole.

Main Purpose of Job:

To manage the workflow of spectacle and contact lens orders in the practice as well as updating and maintaining all workstations and connected instrumentation.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Checking all incoming jobs against orders
  • Processing automated ordering of lenses
  • Chasing jobs that may be late and keeping staff updated regarding expected delivery dates
  • Checking stock against invoices, pricing and labelling ready for display
  • Ensuring that all computers are up to date with all software.
  • Setting up and connecting workstations to equipment and on-line software
  • Liaising with suppliers of goods and products, software/hardware, equipment
  • To help optical assistant staff during busy times by answering telephone, helping with frame styling or general office duties

Experience is not compulsory but a better than average knowledge of computers is required.
