Our client provides a range of social care, special education, community support and consultancy services in the North West of England. The charity is one of the North West’s largest providers of residential homes for children from short-term emergency care to long-term placements. Their fostering service provides family placements in the North West and neighbouring regions.

They provide some of the leading specialist education services in the North West region, operating a range of special schools, a further education college and centres supporting those who cannot attend mainstream schools. In addition, they offer a wide range of training, consultancy and support services for parents and carers.

They are now looking to appoint a Driver to provide a transportation service for the young people attending The School House. This role is for 10 hours per week – two hours per morning in term time only.

As their Driver, it will be your responsibility to collect the children from their home address in the mornings and safely transport them to The School House. Completing paperwork and filling in log-sheets, you will monitor timetables and keep the Pastoral Manager informed if regular difficulties arise.

Candidates for this role must hold a full UK driving licence complete with D1 entitlement and have no serious motoring convictions for at least five years and no bans for at least ten years. With experience of regular driving commitments, you will have knowledge of highway regulation and be able to successfully undertake route planning and map reading.

With a special and caring nature, you will be able to get on with people from all backgrounds and in all circumstances in a polite and sensitive way and be able to take care of the travelling needs of the young people. Honest, reliable and conscientious, you will be able to work well independently without supervision and remain calm in sometimes difficult situations.
