The Market Risk Control Analyst is an important role within our Energy Markets & Credit Risk team. The job will provide accurate and relevant market risk reporting and analysis to control the activities of the commercial business teams, and will give the post holder a unique insight in to the energy industry. The purpose of Energy Markets & Credit Risk is to continually improve the energy market and credit risk control framework across EDF Energy. They provide clear, accurate and insightful risk reporting and analysis capabilities in order to remain compliant with policies, and to support and challenge the business in order to embed energy market and credit risk considerations into decision-making across the business. Key responsibilities include: * Maintain a high standard of risk reporting that provides the business with reliable, accurate and insightful risk reporting. * Provide robust challenge to commercial teams to ensure compliance with approved strategies. * Identify breaches relating to the market risk control framework and contribute to their resolution through investigation and reporting. * Assist in reviews risk reporting of new investments, hedging strategies and products in order to provide assessment of impact on market risk reporting * Interface with stakeholders to improve risk reporting and analysis * Provide support for other EM&CR teams as necessaryThe successful candidate will have a degree, ideally in a numerical subject. They will be able to demonstrate strong communication skills, and will be comfortable discussing complex technical subject matter. They will have advanced spreadsheet skills and, ideally, database management knowledge. Knowledge of energy markets will be beneficial, but not essential; we will provide on the job training.
