Mechanical Engineer - Manufacturing
Ilchester, Somerset
??25,000 - ??30,000 - Dependent On Experience + Overtime
Monday to Friday 8 - 4:30
Mechanical Engineer required within specialist machinery manufacturer offering training and development.
This will be a challenging and varied role building bespoke special purpose machines for a global client base. The role will suit competent mechanically biased engineers from mechanical fitting or mechanical maintenance engineering roles from engineering or manufacturing companies.
The main responsibilities within the role will be working from customer requirements and technical plans/drawings to construct the bespoke special purpose machinery, these will be low volume longer lead time projects. Planned maintenance and breakdown of factory machinery will be another core component of the role. When travelling to client sites you will be working on machine servicing and machinery installations.
The role will be based from the Somerset location at the company's premises with a small element of travel mainly within the UK mainland and occasional overseas, this will be limited to approximately 3 trips per annum at a few days a time.
This is a small but very successful company and the role requires an individual with a team based mentality willing to help with the core production activities on occasion if required.
The role:
* Work on the development, construction and testing of special purpose machines ready for delivery installation of special purpose machinery
* Carry out planned maintenance and reactive breakdown cover on in-house production machinery
* Assist with production when required
* Travel to client locations on occasion to carry out installation and service activities
* Work paid overtime in line with business needs
The Person:
* Mechanical engineer from a manufacturing, maintenance or service/installation background
* Strong experience of mechanical fitting and machinery maintenance
* Able to interpret mechanical engineering drawings
* Willing to work overtime and travel to customer locations on occasion as required
* Live within commutable distance of the general Ilchester location
* Hold a full UK driving licence and British passport
