Group Finance Manager

Part time fixed term contract to cover Maternity leave (until April 2018) this will be a 3 day a week role

Salary circa £27,000 - £30,000 Pro Rata (Dependent on qualifications and experience)

Must have financial experience including the use of sage software. Transportation is essential as you will be required to travel between the centers. This role is of a confidential role and would require company confidentiality to be followed at all times.                                                                                          


To ensure the effective and efficient running of the Finance functions across the group.


  • Ensuring that all staff have been correctly enrolled onto the Pension scheme and

Process each month

  • Calculating any holiday, maternity, sickness allowance and working with the accountant to ensure this is correct
  • Processing and paying Salary each month, this included adding new staff to the payroll run and online accountant information
  • Checking and processing staff Expenses on a monthly basis
  • In putting and reconciling on sage
  • Preparing and supporting the accountants with End of year accounts
  • Monthly Management accounts from the information on sage
  • Ensuring timely and accurate company payments
  • Authorising payments from other members of the finance time and other staff members
  • Ensuring all grants are claim and paid to employers in a timely manner and reconciling these payments against government reports
  • Reconciliation of Petty cash each month
  • Booking staff on to courses and making payments
  • Invoicing for the company
  • Chasing outstanding debt and ensuring that all branches are also following up on this
  • monthly report for employer incentives and to work with other staff to ensure the correct incentives are paid and in a timely manner
  • Internal / external Meetings regarding finance
  • Dealing with accountants and bank on a regular basis
  • Supporting finance team will all necessary functions
  • Support with any necessary training on sage etc.
  • Closing/opening and transferring accounts
  • Supporting with annual company budget
  • Spreadsheets for VAT each year to be completed with curriculum manager
  • Dealing with suppliers - opening new accounts
  • Supplying P11D information each year for the accountants
  • Dealing and solving sage problems/errors for the company when applicable
  • Ensuring all other finance staff are meeting monthly deadlines
  • Staff company car set up with the accountants
  • Childcare voucher scheme set up for staff where applicable
  • First contact for Payroll queries from staff
  • Monthly deferral spreadsheets to be updated each month so this information can be fed into the sage system
  • Writing and sending staff letters regarding pay rises or bonuses


  • Carry out any administrative duties that are required by the role
  • Any other additional duties that may be required by the business
  • Be part of the decision making process regarding Finance
  • Computer literate including Excel
  • Experience of using sage accounts package
  • Good administration and organisational skills
