This is an exciting opportunity for a person with excellent communication and planning skills to gain valuable experience working for the Emergency Planning Team on a temporary basis, covering maternity leave. Reporting to an Emergency Planning Team Manager and working in a highly regarded team of professionals, you will create, maintain and validate emergency response arrangements to cope with any form of major emergency affecting Nottinghamshire.

The post involves close liaison with a broad range of organisations including local authorities, the emergency services, government departments, voluntary organisations, industry and the health service. To be successful in your application you must be able to demonstrate your ability to contribute to the work of the team

.You will certainly need project management skills, plus the ability to deliver effective presentations and training events. As you would expect, the posts demands an ability to work effectively under pressure and at times of crisis. Also, due to the nature of the task, you must be willing to be called (and respond if necessary) outside normal working hours, for which an on call allowance is payable, and have a full driving licence and access to a car.

Disabled applicants who meet the essential shortlisting requirements will be guaranteed an interview. A job share scheme is available for all full time posts: both permanent and temporary, unless otherwise stated. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks.
