Job Title: Support Worker Salary range: ??14000 to ??15392

Location: Bristol,, Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: Full Time. Must be able to work a variety of shifts and be part of the first response team which is paid on top of their hourly rate.

Our client provides a range of housing and support options for people with learning disabilities across Bristol. You will work with service users enabling them to live fulfilling lives by helping to prepare for moving on and returning to the community in line with support plan. A typical day will consist of checking on the well-being of service users, as well as providing a therapeutic, supportive, structured and relaxed environment in which service users can develop and enjoy their lives

Responsibilities of Support Worker:

Provide assistance with the personal care and support needs of customers as identified in their care and support plan.

Encourage and support customers to establish and maintain positive relationships with their family and friends and engage in activities which help them to achieve their personal goals.

Provide support and practical assistance to customers with benefits, budgeting, paying bills and accessing appropriate services.

Provide social and emotional support to customers in line with policies & procedures and best practice.

Be aware of customers` wellbeing, safety and state of health, reporting any concerns.

Ensure all necessary records are accurate and up to date.

Assist with the ordering, safe storage and administration of medication as detailed in care & support plans, recording as appropriate.

Person Specification for Support Worker:

Ideally have 1+ years work experience in health and social care, or a passion to work in health and social care

Willing to undertake a DBS check or be currently registered to the update service

Ideally will have or working towards NVQ Health and Social Care Level 2

Willing to travel locally


Friendly and approachable personality, adaptable to work in a variety of environments with a range of service users

Reliable and punctual
