The Training Opportunity
Registrations are now being taken, for candidates from any background to undertake a detailed training course to become a fully qualified Dual Fuel Meter Installer.
All of these courses are self funded, which means that you will have to pay for the full cost of training (??6,600) before the course starts.
The Training
Training will be to the highest standard available (NSAP/EUSR Approved Training Centre) and this is a mix of both classroom and field based mentored installations (with the end employer).
Classroom Training takes place at an established training centre in Stockport (near Manchester) for 5 weeks. Here. you will receive intense training on electric and gas smart metering installations to enable the smooth progression from trainee into full employment from week 6 of your training.
At the end of mentoring period you will need to revisit the training centre to complete your Diploma and Gas Qualifications.
The Employment Opportunity
Subject to applicants successfully passing pre-employment competence testing and employment vetting (5 years referencing, Driving Licence check and Criminal Record Checks) and an interview with the end employer, you will be offered a place on the training course.
Permanent Employment
Once you have completed the 5 weeks classroom training in Stockport you will progress into paid employment with the following benefits:
Starting salary of ??68.90 per day (??344.50 per week) whilst Mentoring
??26,000 Salary once course has been completed and you are a fully qualified and competent dual fuel meter installer
??1,800 per year Standby Payment for on-call work
On-call payments per completed job
Plus the following benefits:
21 days paid annual leave plus 8 Statutory (Bank) Holidays
Company Contribution Pension Scheme
Company Van
Fuel Card
Tools and Uniform
Company Phone/Computer

Be prepared to undertake technical training to a very high standard

Be prepared to stay away for 5 weeks (Mon to Fri) in Stockport in Cheshire, during the classroom training period and fund this expense at your own cost.
Have a Full UK Driving License with less than 7 penalty points
Have a legal right to work in the United Kingdom
Be aware that you will not be paid during the classroom phase of the training course
