Global supplier of sophisticated human machine interface, data and power solutions and electronics systems to the Military System markets. The organisation continues to capitalise on its success and has a requirement to expand its Test capability. Reporting to the Analysis, Simulation and Test Domain Manager, the position would involve test equipment design (hardware) and co-ordination and management activities for new products to support projects across the business.

Specific Duties & Key responsibilities
Plan and co-ordinate test equipment hardware design, development and delivery in line with requirements and the PCS business management system (BMS) processes
Support the 'fit for purpose' Test Equipment (TE) strategy working with the Analysis & Simulation and Test Team Leads to identify opportunity to grow PCS capability
Support the design, development and delivery of TE hardware, including following the gated review process for the introduction of TE, ensuring equipment meets the design and safety requirements
Support and engage the team in the decomposition of requirements into test specifications and procedures
Management the configuration of Test Equipment and Design Documentation
Support the external procurement of Test Equipment
Apply 'value engineering', 'affordability' & 'DFMAT' principles, in the evaluation, analysis, simulation & test of new & existing TE for cost effective solutions
Plan and support the development, verification and test of TE, working closely with the Test Team Lead
Work in collaboration with domain engineers to support successful testing
Completion of PDPs in the Test Equipment (TE) team
Completion and evaluation of the engineering skills matrix
Assist in the provision of information, staff training and technical instruction as appropriate

Expectations, Background and Understanding
Degree educated in an engineering or science discipline
Capable of managing and leading a small team and providing technical guidance to other engineers
Full understanding of product development lifecycle and associated requirements
Understands the importance of delivery performance to cost and impact to overall performance in the business
Capable of providing clear and concise presentations to Internal and external Customers
Experience and understanding of product development practices in the aerospace to ISO9001 & AS9100 Quality standards
