Business Studies Teacher

At Randstad Education Chelmsford, we find permanent and temporary roles for teachers and support staff across the county of Essex. We are currently working closely with an Academy in the Colchester area, who are looking for a strong Business teacher to occupy an ongoing cover role from January 2017. The role is initially for 1 term, with the possibility of a further term being required. There is also a chance of permanent work for the right applicant.

The school was recently graded 'Good' in an Ofsted inspection, which was an improvement on their previous inspection. The school was described as having a clear vision, and increasingly high standards in many areas. Teaching at the school is described as good, with teachers having strong subject knowledge and effective planning, through skilful questioning and use of assessment. Pastorally and culturally the school is very strong, disadvantaged and SEN pupils make good progress and personal development is outstanding.

The school are keen to continue this upward trend, through the appointment of the right teachers for the job. To improve chances of success, a candidate would need to display:

*The ability to stretch the most-able pupils to achieve top grades
*Strong behaviour management techniques to enable the most disruptive of pupils to improve
*Thorough subject knowledge, and the ability to teach ICT would be hugely beneficial
*The ability to interpret data on individual performance accurately, to identify those in need of support
*A desire to see pupils succeed, and a willingness to assist pupils outside of timetabled Business lessons (i.e. extra curricular help)
