Founded in 1995, our client is an Independent Christian Charity seeking to help and support the homeless in the Erewash and Broxtowe areas. Through the support it provides, the Trust is dedicated to enabling each client to attain economic well being, be healthy, stay safe, and in all ways possible make a positive contribution.
They are currently looking to recruit Weekend Support Workers to enhance the service it provides to their residents.
Responsibilities & Duties:
??? Work with resident service users (empower to be healthy, safe, enjoy, achieve and support in line with their action plans)
??? Ensure that the emotional, psychological, physical and spiritual needs are addressed
??? Use the internal communication systems to maintain a high level of awareness
??? Respect and work cooperatively with others
??? Encourage and help individual service users to establish, maintain and develop a range of relationships within the community
??? Actively encourage client???s healthy living options especially in areas such as personal care/hygiene; cooking and eating
??? To prepare and provide a healthy meal, for those client???s present during any particular Sunday shift
??? Participate in personal supervision
This list is not exhaustive and the jobholder will be expected to adapt and carry out such other duties as may be required from time to time.
Candidate Requirements:
??? Good communicator, active listening skills, problem-solving and negotiating skills
??? Able to give clear instruction and direction and work on own initiative
??? Ability to develop meaningful relationships and gain credibility with a range of people
??? Understanding of the issues facing single vulnerable homeless people
??? Experience working with vulnerable groups of people, within a care environment and within a client-driven service
The successful candidate will work Saturday and Sunday 9am to 5pm on alternative weekends on ??8.00 per hour. You will be entitled to 28 days holiday (inclusive of Bank Holiday entitlement).
