Our Client is a Further Education College offering a wide range of courses to over 5000 full time students and over 5650 part time students each year. They currently work with over 50 high school partners, welcoming students from Bury and the surrounding areas. In addition to over 900 students progressing to university, 200 students choose to study a Higher Level course available at our Client’s Centre each year.

Joining them as a Lecturer in Access and Education, you must deliver excellent and inclusive teaching and learning in the classroom, so that learners are inspired to succeed and progress. They are initially looking to recruit a flexible individual who is able to commit to a permanent 0.5 (18.5 hours) contract however, there is potential for the hours to be increased to a 0.7 (25.9 hours) contract due to business needs. 

As an enthusiastic expert in your area, you will integrate appropriate and inspirational curriculum resources including ILT into lessons and plan delivery so that schemes of work and lesson plans support achievement.  Undertaking ongoing high quality formative and summative assessment of learners work both in class and through regular out of class activity to monitor progress, you must aim to ensure that learners succeed through progress reviews and initiate and respond to new curriculum developments and plan resources as appropriate.

Educated to degree level or equivalent in Psychology (or a related subject), you must have experience of successful teaching (or teaching practice for NT’s over a variety of age ranges) on Psychology (or related subjects) and hold a full teaching qualification or professional recognition in learning and skills (or be currently working towards).  A background in Mental Health / Counselling and / or successful teaching on Mental Health related courses is desirable.  

The role requires an individual with the ability to deliver exceptional teaching and learning and inspire, motivate and engage learners.  Capable of producing effective schemes of work and lesson plans, you should demonstrate a background of inclusive and challenging teaching strategies and of supporting students to attend by meeting their individual needs.
