Do you want to make a difference to people’s lives?

Are you looking for a challenging and rewarding role?

Our client is looking for an experienced worker to provide support to adults affected by substance misuse. This is a split role working 22 hours as a Recovery Worker (Carers) and 15 hours as a Recovery Worker. Within the carers aspect of the role you will provide support to family and friends affected by others’ substance misuse. The Recovery Worker element of the role will support individuals in their recovery, providing information and advice, needle exchange and harm reduction, and outreach support.

You will work with individuals, managing a caseload, and completing care plans within a multi-agency team; undertaking assessments and providing information and advice to substance users and family or friends affected by substance misuse.

You will hold a caseload of around 50 clients which will include complex and challenging people with multiple needs including mental health issues; this will require excellent organisational and time management skills. Experience of working with this client group in a substance misuse setting is desired.

The office base for this post is King’s Lynn but will cover a wider geographical area comprising Hunstanton, Heacham, Burnham Market and surrounding areas. The work will be carried out within the service location and in the community; the ability to travel is essential.

Working hours are between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday with a late 8pm finish on Wednesdays and a late session every other Thursday. Our client operates a Time Off In Lieu (TOIL) system to reclaim additional hours worked.

This post is within Norfolk Recovery Partnership, a partnership between the Matthew Project, Norfolk and Suffolk Foundation Trust and Rehabilitation for Addicted Prisoners Trust (RAPt).

Our client is a value driven charity working across Norfolk and Suffolk giving help and hope through programmes with adults, young people and communities affected by drugs and alcohol. They have a vision to reach every part of the community in the most creative, effective and efficient ways. Through our client’s varied services, young people and adults receive professional advice, information, counselling, support, care and education.

Our client welcomes applications from people of all backgrounds, of any faith or none. You will join a charity that has a Christian ethos and you will share our client’s focus on their mission, values, clients and colleagues with a strong team spirit. They offer a rewarding, challenging role with their commitment to well-being and development.
