School Science Technician

Required to start from January 2017

Long-term role

Possibility of a permanent contract

The role:

School Science Technician/Laboratory Assistant to support the Science department.

The ideal candidate will have;

- Experience as a Science technician or laboratory technician in a school or college.

- A degree in the field of Science

- Experience of working with children or teenagers (minimum experience of 3 months in the last 2 years)

- A clear criminal record and a full enhanced DBS disclosure.

Duties include:

- Setting up equipment for practical lessons

- Keeping the Science Laboratory tidy

- Preparing solutions and chemical compounds for practical lessons

- Supporting the teacher and students in the class

- Supporting students in small groups with Science knowledge

- Adhering to health and safety regulations.

- The job will be initially serving as long-term supply, however it could go permanent dependant upon effectiveness in the role.

- The normal working hours will be 8am-4pm

- To be eligible to be put forward for this role you must live in the North-West area, be able to commute to Bolton on a daily basis and be available to start from January 2017.

- You must also have strong knowledge of child protection procedures & how to report any safeguarding issues if they arise.
