The main role of the service technician is to carry out repairs and maintenance to the fleet in order to ensure that vehicles are turned around and made available for rent in the shortest possible time.
Responsibilities include but will not necessarily be limited to:
Carry out all mechanical, electrical and cosmetic body repairs to industry standards and times
Complete scheduled manufacturer scheduled servicing on a wide range of vehicle makes and modelsare tracked as out of service or back in service
This is a full time role with shift work
Manage repairs and maintenance on Budget systems so that all vehicles
Key Accountabilities:
Advanced diagnosis of vehicle issues using standard engineering methods and electronic diagnostic equipment
Ensures that ABG vehicle maintenance policies and procedures are followed at all times
Looks for and identifies efficiencies in the day to day activities in the workshop environment and feeds back opportunities to the Lead Technician or Workshop Development Manager
Helps and supports maintenance and operations colleagues in resolving technical issues
Ensures all Company environmental health and safety procedures are adhered to on a day-to-day basis
EDUCATION
GCSE (A-C)pass in Maths and English
Interest in vehicles and automotive industry
Work experience / background:
Proven track record in managing repairing vehicles across a wide range of vehicle types and categories with known manufacturers
Proven track record of results achievement
Proven track record of quality delivery
Light commercial vehicle maintenance experience
Tyre fitting and / or glass fitting experience
Technical / business skills & knowledge:
Car and Van repair techniques and methods
Diagnostic equipment experience
Current vehicle repair methods
ICME and Glass' workshop times knowledge
Advanced repair diagnostics (engine management systems)
Light Commercial vehicle repair knowledge
CPC and operating license experience
Knowledge of breakdown and recovery processes
Knowledge of Fuel evacuation processes and procedures
Other requirements:
Full clean UK driving licence
Ability to work Monday to Sunday depending on needs
