Mechanical Project Manager - Cambridge 

One of the largest privately-owned construction, development and property services companies in the UK are recruiting for a Mechanical Project Manager to be based in their Cambridge office. You will join a strong team of Engineers currently working on some of the most iconic projects within East Anglia within various sectors including commercial, defence, education, health, leisure, retail, pharmaceutical and high end large scale residential. 

The key objectives of this role as a Mechanical Project Manager is to have overall responsibility for the Building Services elements of the projects ensuring that the business meets programme, cost, safety and quality objectives. The primary activities for the M&E Engineer is to work closely with the planner, ensuring that we have a clear sequence of works with defined duration and resource loaded that is agreed with the client. 

Other elements of the role will include technical selection and management of sub-contractors and suppliers, managing Health & Safety, support of the Commercial Surveyor on the projects, commissioning, amongst other aspects of the usual day to day role. 

The ideal candidate will be a qualified engineer who will drive the design, co-ordination, delivery and handover of all projects. 

Successful applicants will have the following qualifications and experience:
· Experience of working on large commercial new build projects.
· Working for a Building Services Contractor at a similar level.
· Consistently good financial returns on projects, taking into account all relevant factors.
· Good people management and motivational skills.
· The ability to work under pressure to meet set deadlines.
· The ability to plan ahead, co-ordinate and prioritise workloads.
