Our Client; a truly global leader in the manufacture of Specialist Vehicles and Survivability systems are experiencing enormous growth. It is for this reason that we have been tasked with finding an experienced, dynamic and enthusiastic Production Controller to join the team as soon as possible on a permanent basis, at their brand new facility in West Sussex. The remuneration is to an extent, negotiable, and will based on relevant experience. In all cases, a competitive benefits package is on offer.

Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of production planning including the monitoring of stock supplies, strategic parts deliveries to ensure production can successfully take place on time.

Additionally you will take responsibility for:

•Support the Project Manager/Engineer & Production Manager with the delivery of efficient and economical project builds
•Manage the relations between the Production & Supply Chain stakeholders.
•Meet production time scales, schedules and budget requirements.
•Establishing and reporting Performance Metrics, KPl's, periodic (weekly & monthly) reports.
•Meeting internal process and build time lines.
•Attending production progress meetings and compile associated reports..
•Adhere to project, subcontract, security and data management strategy, policy and processes.
•Manage production risks and identify opportunities.
•Identify and plan the resources needed to support programme deliverables.
•Approve all internal production planning documentation in line with requirements.
•Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Project and SAP would be useful to plan and support production schedules.
•Facilitate Configuration Reviews to assess future product development.
•Review and support cost down initiatives.

Skills and Experience ideally required:

•Manufacturing background with qualification preferred, ideally to HNC level.
•Ideally a professional management qualification i.e. PRINCE 2
•Ideally Project/Programme Management experience within low/medium volume automotive production.
•Experience of Supply Chain Management.
•A deep understanding of designing and manufacture to a price is essential.
•Strong negotiation skills with suppliers.
•Possess drive, energy and enthusiasm to delivery within tight lead times .
•Extensive experience of manufacturing support tools such as SAP & MRP is required for the role.
•Competent in the composition of BoMs and Production Schedules.
•Experience in Project Risk and opportunity management.
•The flexibility to travel within the UK and overseas.
