Position: Buyer - Fresh Produce
Location: South East
Salary: £35k - £45k + Great Benefits

Our client is a rapidly expanding SME company who are currently in search of a talented and personable Buyer for their Fresh Produce category. This category has an excellent growth potential therefore a strategic approach will be required in order to assess and restructure current processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for the analysis, sourcing, negotiation and management of both new and existing contracts with suppliers.This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic team whilst offering both career development and business interaction.
Major duties for this job will involve:
* Manage fresh produce costs in the supply chain
* Analyse, re-focus and restructure current processes with an eye for solving current inefficiencies and demonstrating change within the category
* Identify and deliver cost savings and added value in procurement of fresh produce
* Support the NPD project teams in delivering NPI, analysis and recommendations
* Chance to learn and diversify into more categories, with potential to grow a team
Experience and competencies required:
* A strong understanding of FMCG Purchasing
* Extensive experience working within Food Services
* Highly knowledgeable of the Fresh Produce category
* Highly computer literate - advanced excel
* Customer focused - experience of working collaboratively with key suppliers
* Excellent communication and influencing to develop strong relationships internally and externally
* Strong team player
* Highly organised and motivated
Preferred abilities:
* A genuine interest in food trends and new product development
