Position: Part/Newly Qualified - Financial Accountant
Location: North Yorkshire + Travel to South
Salary: £25,000 - £35,000 per annum + benefits package + expensed travel to the South

Job overview:
* In this exciting and important role will use business and finance systems knowledge alongside accounting expertise to produce both internal and external reporting. You will form part of a large team within Financial Reporting.
* The reporting cycles are fast paced and frequent.
* The team is also supporting the wider spectrum within the Chief Accounting area and hence there are a number of opportunities to engage in some of the key integration work streams currently underway.
Key duties for this role will cover:
* Using accounting and theoretical knowledge to recommend improvements within their work processes and procedures, particularly regarding risk and control frameworks
* Undertaking defined tasks on a larger Finance projects or smaller scale investigations within reporting
* Providing support to more senior management/stakeholders by proposing/developing appropriate solutions for the business/team
* There are financial reporting roles offshore who support the production teams, you will interact with this team on a daily basis
* The role covers funds/entities which include a range of products and business types across differing systems and processes.; This will require a degree of autonomous working to produce the necessary core outputs applicable to the fund within an appropriate control environment
* Ad-hoc finance projects.
Essential knowledge and competencies required:
* Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
* IFRS / UK GAAP Reporting Standards
* Computer literacy and a highly skilled in Microsoft Office especially Excel
* Good knowledge of Finance processes and relevant architecture
* Ability to manage complex processes with multiple inputs
* Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work as a team member
* The ability to be self-motivated in a fast paced environment
* A basic understanding of business processes
* Insurance reporting experience is desirable but not essential
