This company provides educationally rich experiences for schools and groups specialising in Ski, Sport and History tours.

They are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and dedicated Sports Sales Specialist who shares their commitment to the development of young people through their passion for sport. The successful candidate will be their customer ambassador for sports & international sales, driving enthusiasm through their business and their customers about sports and the tours they can provide. You will make sports & international sales a success within the company and a highly profitable growth area for their business.

Key responsibilities of the role
- Prepare & issue the quotes for sports & international enquiries
- Liaise with the country sales specialists and sports suppliers to enable the best quality and value quotes are provided for our customers in the shortest possible time.
- Drive sports and international conversion at a level no lower than 25%.
- Attend occasional face to face meetings with key sports and international customers.
- Liaise with customers and the sales team on amendments and additions to proposals.
- Arrange matches and fixtures for our groups on confirmed sports tours.
- Initiate and deliver team wide sports sales initiatives such as calling weeks and other sales and marketing campaigns.
- Attend sports inspection visits with customers and colleagues
- Rep their sports and international groups as per the needs of the business.
- Contribute and participate in the creation of the sports brochure.
- Hold key relationships with sports suppliers i.e. football clubs, training facilities etc.
- Liaise with the head of sales, head of marketing & head of product development on new initiatives and products for the sports and international portfolio.
- Maintain and drive a strong margin in line with company goals and expectations on sports and international bookings.

The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience
- Knowledge of the school travel market - desirable
- Proven interest and passion for sport
- Excellent telephone manner
- Proven success in a sales driven environment
- Target driven
- Being highly motivated and used to working within a driven team environment
- Resilient and self-motivated
- Strong attention to detail
- Understanding of the principals of profit, margin, cost etc and how these apply on a booking by booking basis
- Adaptable communication skills and developed sales skills such as persuasion, influencing, consultative, organisation and prioritisation
- Good working understanding of office IT products including MS word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and MS Powerpoint.
