Our client is a well known transport, logistics and freight forwarding company with offices in the Nordic countries, UK and the US with approx. 700 employees and a turnover of approx. 1.9 billion DKK.

Due to continuous expansion, our client is now seeking an experienced Import Freight Forwarder to join the Road Operations team at their busy head office in Leeds. They believe that people are their strongest asset and are currently looking for an enthusiastic Import Freight Forwarder to join the import team.

Position Summary
As Import Freight Forwarder your daily duties will include:
• Responding to quote requests & bookings from customers both internally and externally
• Arrange transport in accordance with current agreement and produce associated documents e.g. collection notes, manifest etc.
• Liaise with shipper, consignee or nominated contact to ensure all transportation details are accurate
• Liaise with customers and grow an understanding of the customers’ business needs & markets
• Identify and nurture existing business opportunities and search for new markets
• Deal with ongoing queries and provide up to date information to the customer in respect of transported goods
• Raise sales invoices & respond to related queries in a timely manner
• Communicate with overseas depots and form a strong working relationship with partners
• Ensure current systems are accurate and maintain efficient filing & records
• Arrange export or import customs clearance if required

What you need:
• Experience within a similar role / industry
• Works well under pressure and can cope during high volume peaks
• Great team player with ability to work independently
