Lane Global are seeking a Data Engineer who will be installing cabling for a small / medium for data cabling company in South East.
The successful applicant will have a strong knowledge and proven experience of cabling installations, including cat5, cat6/6a, fibre optics and telecoms cabling.
The role involves carrying our cabling installation works along with specific responsibility for managing and implementing data cabinet patching projects and reports to the Installation Manager.
The role involves ensuring relevant projects are installed to specification, on time and to quality standards. Duties will include surveying & auditing comms rooms, client liaison, staff supervision, resource scheduling & logistics, project administration, problem solving, ordering, stock control, health & safety and quality checks.
The position will involve both field and office based work on projects across multiple sites in London and the South East, incurring regular travel and working Saturdays. A hands-on approach is vital as the role will involve carrying out installation works.
We are looking for a friendly, highly motivated, hard working, proactive individual with 'can do' flexible positive attitude and excellent communication skills. The correct attitude and approach to work are vital. The right person will be rewarded with excellent salary and benefits.
The role will suit an individual that is currently working in an installation role with experience of man management and problem solving and who feels ready to take on responsibility for project implementation.
It is essential that the applicant has experience of installing, terminating and testing data fibre and voice cables
Bicsi/C&G certification in copper/fibre installations is preferred but not essential.
Clean Driving Licence.
CSCS card.
Predominately based in London and Croydon but travel to the office to compile reports will also be essential.
This is ideal for someone looking to step up from an engineer to an off the tools supervisor / lead engineer.
