Management Accountant - Salford (Contract/Fixed Term)

This role is part of a small Finance Team, which supports the needs a number of business units in the North West , and is also linked to regional and national financial processes and procedures. The role of the team is to challenge the financial reporting and forecasting of the Business, ensuring strong financial controls and procedures are in place, but also provide support and advice to the Business.

The Role & Responsibilities

We are seeking a part qualified or fully qualified (ACCA/CIMA) Management Accountant. The role will be responsible for the preparation, development and analysis of key financial information to ensure that an organisation's management makes well-informed decisions to ensure future stability, growth and profitability.

The Management Accountant will assist in establishing and maintaining financial policies and management information systems, as well as provide a high quality support service by liaising with management colleagues on all aspects of finance. The role combines accounting skills with business management skills

Profit Centre Financial Management and Reporting

* Preparing monthly management accounts, including profit and loss accounts, budgets, variance analysis and commentaries
* Carry out regular and timely analysis of staff efficiency and utilisation and liaise with PM's/PCM's regarding outputs/results
* Completion of monthly actual and forecast variance analysis, including Project profitability analysis
* Carry out Discipline / Profit Centre reviews, challenge monthly forecasts within the forecasting system (Axiom), Review and challenge of Sales Pipeline Tracker opportunities and forecasts with PCM's.
* Support Finance Manager and Profit Centre managers with the production of stretching but achievable annual Business Plan forecasts
* Provide support in validation of and information for production of fee proposals/tenders
* SAP/Desktop Housekeeping
* Invoice checking (Accounts receivable and payable)
* Working Capital Management

Other Responsibilities

* Assistance with production of weekly/monthly Management Information and reports
* Provide financial support, guidance and training to Profit Centre Managers/Project Managers
* Support the Finance Manager in implementing Capita standard systems, processes and procedures, ensuring compliance with Capita Policies and rules

Skills and Experience

* Either part or fully qualified in CIMA or equivalent
* Management Accounting experience, with familiarity of job costing and project accounting.
* Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular of Excel.
* Project Accounting experience
* Experience SAP accounting software

* Able to plan work and then re-prioritise and adapt as required.
* Must be willing to accept responsibility
