The Active Industries School are looking to appoint a creative and enthusiastic Lecturer to deliver on a flexible basis including for the MK Dons Elite Football Apprentices.

Milton Keynes College are working in partnership with the MK Dons Elite Footballers currently studying an Apprenticeship. The students are working towards achieving a BTEC Sports qualification as part of their apprenticeship framework. As a Lecturer you will be delivering inspiring lessons within a classroom setting using a variety of innovative and engaging teaching methods. Our learners are used to practical work and therefore the ability to use alternative, creative methods to teach is essential.

The School of Active Industries have a clear plan to grow the department and as such we are looking for a team player who wishes to be a part of and support that journey.

As the successful candidate for the position of Lecturer: Sports Science/Public Services, you will possess the following essential knowledge, skills and experience;

  • Hold a minimum of a Level 3 subject qualification specific to Sport Science or Sport Coaching
  • Hold a teaching qualification e.g. PGCE, Cert Ed, DTTLs, (if applicable - or demonstrate a willingness to work towards one)
  • Hold proven relevant occupational experience in a Sport Science or Sport Coaching related field. Candidates that are able to teach biomechanics up to level 3 would be preferable, but it is not essential
  • Have some experience of working within a College environment teaching or training level 1, 2 or 3 programmes
  • Be able to teach creatively, adapting to the needs of a variety of learners and be willing to explore new teaching and learning strategies

Salary: GBP17.15 - GBP31.01 per hour
