We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate to join our Finance Function based in our head office in Wilmslow.

You will spend your first 12 months working within the Group Tax Team before being given the opportunity to work across the wider Finance function (such as Accounts or Actuarial) or continue within the Group Tax team. You will also then have the chance to begin your exams - AAT, ACCA, ATT, CIMA - depending on your chosen career path. This will be supported by Royal London.

The main purpose of the role within the Group Tax Team is to assist with tax compliance and reporting processes for tax returns and provide general support for the efficient day to day running of the team.

This will be a broad tax role covering many different aspects of what the tax team get involved in.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of tax computations/returns as directed and provides support to wider team as appropriate
  • Assist in the production of more complex tax analysis work in respect of various taxes as directed
  • Provide assistance to other members of the Group Tax team with tax compliance, adhoc tasks & project work as directed
  • Undertake sundry administrative duties necessary for the day to day running of the tax function

Within this role, you will make a contribution to risk;

  • Gain an understanding of the Tax Strategy and Risk Appetite Statement and how this applies to your role.
  • Be willing to challenge the effectiveness of procedures/controls
  • Identify and escalate risks to your line manager and other required parties.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree educated (open to degree subject) with a desire to begin a career within Finance/Tax
  • PC Skills (proficient in use of Word and Excel)
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • High level of attention to detail .
