Regional Press Adviser South West £15,000 - £18,000 p.a. (based on 3 days a week)

Part time flexible (3 days) South West based role for politically astute press adviser

The Role

The Regional Press Adviser will join the Conservative Campaign HQ press team with responsibility for delivering the Party's communications strategy across the South West region. You will:

• provide political communications support across the whole region
• develop strong working relationships with journalists across the region
• develop / promote stories to regional and local journalists
• provide media relations support to MPs / prospective Parliamentary candidates
• assist on Ministerial tours, visits and events

The Person

The Regional Press Adviser will have relevant journalism qualifications or experience in a similar national / local based press role. With excellent political judgement and some interest / knowledge of the Conservative Party. You will have excellent written / oral / organisational and communication skills, the ability to work independently. Experience and interest in wider political roles is desirable.

The ideal work pattern would be as part of a job share with another employee, together planning the 3 days' work across the working week. You will need to be flexible as working hours may at times be long and uncertain.
