‘This Exploited Land: The trailblazing story of ironstone and railways in the North York Moors’ (TEL) is an exciting new Landscape Partnership Scheme funded through the Heritage Lottery Fund and a range of other partners. The 5-year project will conserve some of the iconic built heritage features across Rosedale and the Esk Valley, work with land managers to nurture the natural environment that has reclaimed these spaces and tell the fascinating stories of this transition in both landscape and communities.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and engaging Volunteer Coordinator to join the team that will deliver this important project and also support volunteering across the wider Conservation Department. The TEL elements of the post are expected to require 22 hours/week and the wider volunteering 15 hours/week. The role will involve developing and delivering volunteering across a range of themes including environmental conservation, community archaeology and project management.

You will need to be able to tell us about your:

• Knowledge of volunteer management and development;

• Experience of working on a variety of volunteer tasks and projects;

• Ability to work as part of a dynamic team;

• Enthusiasm for working with communities and land managers; and

• Skill for communicating with partners, volunteers and contractors.
