Management Accountant GBP30-35K

This company based in Tyseley, Birmingham produces a range of engine cooling systems, heating and air conditioning systems, electric battery cooling systems and specialist vehicle and rail thermal management systems. This company are the market leader for engine cooling and HVAC systems for the bus and coach market, supplying product globally. From a simple radiator design through to a complete cooling module with radiator/ charge air cooler and the option of viscous, hydraulic and electric fan drive.

The Management Accountant will assist the Group Finance Director in preparation of monthly management accounts for all of the individual group companies. Assist in the preparation of monthly summary and detailed Finance report to Directors. There will be a strong bias towards costing, margin analysis, production labour and overhead recovery, scrap analysis, reporting of consumable spend as well as intercompany costing updates.

The preparation of budgets and subsequent monthly variance analysis and commentaries for budget holders will be a key part of the role along with reporting and commentary on KPIs. Assist in group forecasting and provide updates on resource requirements as well as variances in forecast performance against budget.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

- Production of monthly Management Accounts with reporting pack including KPIs full year forecasting, commentary and summaries
- Preparation of cost of sales budgets, monthly cost of sales analysis and commentary
- Reviewing margin analysis and instigate profit improvement programs with key managers
- Providing product costing for new products and for large contracts
- Working closely with the key management to provide various targets, statistics and reports
- Working closely with Finance Director and IT Manager on preparation of and execution of stocktakes


- Degree level candidate, highly numerate with CIMA or ACCA qualification or part qualified
- Highly proficient in Excel and strong Microsoft Office capabilities
- Strong background in both financial and manufacturing computer systems
- Experience in manufacturing or a process industry ideal
- Full UK driving licence

Working Hours (40.5 per week): 0800 - 1700 (Monday to Thursday)// 0800 - 1500 (Friday)
