Product Development Engineer – Textiles / Composites

With an impressive global network, our client is a leader in recycling raw materials within the carbon fibre industry. They are now looking for a Product Development Engineer to join their team.

Within a fast-paced environment where innovation is nurtured, you’ll have the chance to play a key role in expanding our client’s product range. 

As a Product Development Engineer, you’ll be responsible for creating new products within our client’s range of carbon fibre materials. 

Using customer feedback, you will develop new products and enhance existing ones, with the aim of increasing the number of application areas our client can sell into. 

You’ll produce trial materials and prepare development proposals, defining the process, schedule, cost and milestones required to convert an exciting idea into commercial products. 

Additionally, you’ll represent the company in collaborative research programs and develop internal quality control standards for finished products. 

As part of your role, you may occasionally be required to travel throughout the UK and Europe. 

To be considered, you must have proven experience as a product development engineer within the textile or composites industry OR a PhD within a textiles or composites related subject. 

As a Product Development Engineer, you must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with colleagues, customers and external collaborators. You must also be highly organised with superb time-management and prioritisation abilities.
