Trimline now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join our business that delivers interior refit projects globally within the marine industry.  As a company we pride ourselves on delivering excellence in all that we do. 

Trimline Limited is a Southampton-based business that has been providing services to the cruise and ferry, offshore, defence and super yacht sectors for nearly 50 years.​  Our site has comprehensive in-house manufacturing facilities, including joinery, polishing, upholstery and soft furnishings departments, and a large team of project managers and designers who utilise the latest technologies to deliver excellence to the marine industry. 

What will I be responsible for?

Joining our team in the role of Health and Safety Manager, you must independently lead, develop, maintain and communicate all aspects of the companies Health and Safety Management system. On a daily basis this will involve 
  • Ensuring that a positive and pro-active safety culture is developed, led and maintained within the business and remote sites.
  • Providing daily guidance and direction with regards to HSQE programs at all levels.
  • Monitoring Health, Safety and Environmental legislation and update relevant policies and practices when required.
  • Managing the risk assessment and safe systems of work process guiding interested parties.
  • Scheduling and administering the company’s internal audit process.
  • Monitoring and assessing all hazardous substances
  • Co-ordinating with Facilities all aspect of HSQE with regards to contractors in the business.
  • Leading all aspects of Emergency Preparedness and procedure within the company facilities.
  • Proactively leading the Health and Safety committee meetings and resolving any issues.
  • Administering all aspects of accident and incident reporting, investigation and prevention.
Who are we looking for?

Leading Health and Safety in our business will require the successful candidate to be capable of communicating and influencing effectively, to draw the best practices from all our employees and sub-contractors to continually improve our safe working culture.  To be successful you must have multi-site experience, ideally within the marine industry or in a construction environment.

You will also require: 
  • Qualified to NEBOSH 4.2 Diploma or higher
  • Proven experience as a Health and Safety Manager
  • Marine Industry experience
  • Construction Industry qualification / experience
  • OHSAS 18001 Experience
  • Environmental Management qualification / Experience
  • Excellent knowledge of current legislative requirements and approved code of practice.
  • IT skills including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ideally experience in working in a Ship yard, Ship building, maintenance and refit environment.
Engaging with the office and site project personnel, the successful Health and Safety Manager must have the leadership and communication skills to be able to instil a proactive safety culture that is consistently delivered by all individuals within the organisation resulting in the prevention of accidents and incidents.
