Our client is committed to providing creative child-centred care packages for children and young people. They provide each young person with a safe, supportive, trusting environment with challenges that promote growth, responsibility, learning and positive outcomes.

Excellent opportunities have now arisen for two Residential Support Workers to join them at their children’s home located near Haltwhistle on a full time, permanent basis.  One position will cover a day shift and the other a night shift.

You will work as part of a team of carers in the outdoor providing direct day to day care, direction and support to young people who present challenging, emotional and social difficulties and to maintain and promote an environment using the outdoors as a medium for healing within the parameters of local and national child care practice.

In order to be successful in this position, it is essential that candidates are NVQ 3 – Level 3 Diploma (QCF) qualified in Children and Young People’s workforce or have a commitment to obtain this qualification.

With effective communication and good interpersonal skills, you should have an understanding of the needs of young people in public care and will be able to form professional and positive relationships with children and young people.

Due to the nature of this role, a full UK driving licence is essential.  It is also important that you are able to work shifts including weekends and evenings and sleep ins.

Appointment to this position will be subject to a successful DBS check.
