An interesting opportunity is available for an Internal Sales Person to join a world leader in the field of engineering plastics, excelling in both the manufacture of semi-finished stock shapes and profiles, and in the machining of plastic materials. Based in Bishop’s Stortford, Hertfordshire the successful Internal Sales Person will earn between £20,000 and £25,000 depending on experience.
As the market leader in the manufacture of semi-finished and finished parts, complete assemblies and precision profiles from high performance plastics. The clients name in quality allows the Company to work with a number of industries, including Aerospace, Automotive, Oil & Gas and Formula 1.
The role of the Internal Sales Person is to represent the company in a professional manner and provide the best possible service to the customer. You will be responsible for developing existing and potential accounts to increase sales and achieve the sales target. Reporting to the Branch Manager, the main duties of the Internal Sales Person are:
The successful Internal Sales Person will have previous experience, ideally in a similar role providing quotations. In addition, you will also possess the following experience and skills:
Benefits: 28 days holiday (including bank holidays), increasing up to 33 days with length of service, free car parking, 1 x salary life cover and 5% company contribution to a pension scheme following a successful probation period.

- Ensure customer enquiries are handled quickly and efficiently using the bespoke computer system
- Providing quotations for material cut to size based on customer needs, negotiating on price when necessary to obtain an order and secure future business
- Increasing sales and profits by developing relationships with established accounts and ensuring all key accounts are properly managed
- Maintaining customer records, including the follow-up of accounts which have a ‘dormant’ status in an effort to re-engage with the customer
- Achieving and maintaining a strong understanding of the products and services that the company offers
- Having market awareness, including the pricing provided to customers by competitors and providing the Branch Manager with relevant information
- Working effectively with other members of the team and other departments providing support when required
- Working closely with Internal Sales and Warehouse staff across other branches and Head Office to ensure the best service for customers
- Meeting prescribed KPIs and objectives
- Ensuring a professional, friendly and consistent service is provided to the customer so they are completely satisfied with the service offered
- Ensuring the materials and goods are supplied correctly and to specification
The successful Internal Sales Person will have previous experience, ideally in a similar role providing quotations. In addition, you will also possess the following experience and skills:
- Proven success and experience of selling
- Demonstrable ability to build, develop and maintain relationships with key customers
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Capable of answering queries via phone and email relating to goods and services
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products
- Customer focused with a “can-do” attitude to ensure delivery of the highest service
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as on own initiative
- Organised with good attention to details
- Proven ability to perform under pressure
- Professional, self-motivated and energised
