An excellent opportunity for a Cloud and Storage focused Senior System Administrator / Systems Engineer to join an industry leading provider of Managed Networks, Cloud, Hosting and Colocation services to over 3000 customers across the UK

The Senior System Administrator (Cloud and Storage) Opportunity:

Responsible for 3rd line technical support to external clients & internal employees, assisting them with managed server operating system, application and hardware problems with a focus on Cloud platform and Storage system support. Provide final point of escalation for the team of Technical Support Engineers. 

+ This role may require occasional customer and company site visits.
+ Monday to Sunday out of hours and on call working where necessary.

Essential Education, Qualifications & Skills:

+ Minimum Degree level or equivalent in IT, Computer Science or similar discipline / proven equivalent working experience.
+ Minimum GCSE level, or equivalent, in English. 
+ Extensive experience as Senior System Administrator, or similar, providing Cloud and Storage platform support.
+ Vast amount of experience with supporting large, shared infrastructure environments (Cloud hosting ideally).
+ Vast amount of experience with Troubleshooting Enterprise hardware, including storage Systems, focussing on HP brands: MSA/P4000/3PAR.
+ Vast amount of experience of installing, configuring and troubleshooting iSCSI and Fibre channel fabrics.
+ Vast amount of experience in VMWare ESXi, VMware vCenter (HA/DRS).
+ Excellent knowledge of VMWare ESXi, VMware vCenter and VMware Virtualisation.
+ Good technical knowledge of VMware DRS.
+ Good technical knowledge of DNS, Email, FTP and Web-servers and general system administration.
+ Understanding of developing SLAs and OLAs
+ Excellent standard of written and spoken English. 

Desirable:

+ ITIL Foundation Certification or working towards.
+ Extensive technical phone support experience of working within a technical support team environment with 500+ users.
+ Experience with Hyper-V and SCVMM.
+ Experience with HP Server and Blade based systems.
+ Experience with VMware vCloud Networking and Security/VMWare vShield Manager and VMWare vCloud Director.
+ Experience with Zerto software.
+ Experience with INFINDAT storage system.
+ Good technical knowledge of Microsoft Hyper V, Microsoft Azure & Fibre channel fabrics.
