Lighting Engineer / Trainee Lighting Engineer

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for either an experienced Lighting Engineer or someone wishing to specialise in lighting design to join a long established design-led UK based lighting manufacturer. Based in Bradford, West Yorkshire the successful Lighting Engineer will earn a salary of £17,000-£30,000 per annum depending on experience and qualifications.

As a Lighting Engineer you will be responsible for producing lighting designs from drawings and/or site visits. The main duties of the Lighting Engineer will include, but not limited to:
 

• Producing lighting specifications and competitor quotes, lighting designs using Taison lighting products
• Creating lighting designs using Relux or Dialux
• Attending sites as requested and undertake site surveys
• Producing lighting designs and schemes from data collected at a site survey
• Producing schedules of luminaires for each lighting design undertaken
• Ensuring all CIBSE, EU and other statutory regulations are met when carrying out a lighting design
• Managing work on time so that all requirements are met to deadlines imposed
• Creating and maintaining social media accounts for the company on relevant and agreed mediums
• Updating website information as and when required
• Being involved in the creation of marketing information using AutoCAD systems

To be considered for the Lighting Engineer position you must be qualified by experience or qualification, or you must show an exceptional level of computer literacy and a strong interest in technical design to train as a lighting engineer and you must possess the following skills and experience:
 

• Knowledge of CIBSE regulations in lighting (training provided to trainee level)
• Good level of education
• Attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills
• Highly competent with computers including all Microsoft packages
