Job purpose
Nationally a new process for identifying students who have high support needs has been implemented, with Education Health and Care Plans (EHCP) being a key part of this process.. The post holder will be responsible for the EHCP and High Needs processes in Supported Learning Curriculum area.
Duties and responsibilities
Specific
To have administrative overview of all EHCPs in the Supported Learning area of the college
To log on receipt and ensure timely response
To monitor and record when students start courses
To ensure that all support provision identified by assessors is put in place for students with EHCP
To lead on timely review meetings, to include inviting attendees, collating and distributing reports and leading the meetings in accordance with Northamptonshire County Council guidance. Training on guidance will be given)
To complete reports after review meetings and distribute as per guidelines.
To ensure the distribution of assessment information and support targets to the staff responsible for students with EHCPs and high needs.
To ensure that support for all high needs students who do not have EHCPs is reviewed by teachers and practitioners in timely fashion.
To provide support and advice to students who are undertaking the EHCP application process.
Once the process is fully understood, to deliver staff training on EHCPs
