This is an immediate interim role for Pension Officer within our local government client.
The role focuses on ensuring all financial reconciliations are kept up to date and regularly confirm that internal controls are followed and reported to management. Engaging with the project team on pension fund matters to ensure the system is able to deal with pension transactions and to deliver appropriate financial management reports as necessary. other key areas include;
* Prepare the Pension Fund Accounts for 2016/17 within the agreed timescales. Provide clear working papers and answer all queries from external audit. Work with Tri-Borough colleagues to update the Annual Report template in line with CIPFA guidance.
* Provide advice and support to the Pensions Sub-Committee as required and work with HR on the operation of Pension Board including agenda planning, preparation of reports and implementation of knowledge & skills training policy.
* Contribute to, and lead where requested, the procurement of fund managers and other service providers on a Tri-Borough basis through frameworks or other means. Once committee decisions are made, follow up due diligence and documentation requirements.
* Review and maintain a long term cash flow forecast for the Fund to be reported periodically to Senior Officers and Committee. This should be used as the basis for reported financial forecasts and to inform the development of the investment strategy.
* Maintain relationships with external parties e.g. fund managers, actuary, custodian, investment consultant.
* Arrangement for payment and processing of scheme expenditure.
