The Role

Norton Rose Fulbright is currently running a number of strategic initiatives and programmes that include new core financial and practice management systems (SAP) implementations. With significant planning and design underway we are now looking to move to the next phase of the project that will require extensive work to prepare the data within the existing practice management system (Aderant) for migration. As a result we are looking for four Qualified Financial Accountants to join our EMEA Data team (eight individuals) located in London that will be working as a part of a wider business transformation team. The roles will have a regional remit and will require some travel across the region and non-standard working hours.

Duties and responsibilities

Undertaking of a range of core financial tasks (reconciliations / management accounts production / invoicing / budgeting / forecasting / data inputs / VAT reporting). This will involve liaison with respective heads of department and / or programme leads
Assistance in creation and review of financial reports on a monthly, quarterly and ad hoc basis to the regional teams to include relevant and effective written analysis for the regional leadership team
Performing tests to validate financial information, undertaking financial audits and producing reports and recommendations
Reviewing and reconciling fixed assets registers, preparing monthly GL balances in relevant currency
Assistance in the production of monthly accounting records for audit including responding to queries from the external auditors as they arise together with statutory financial statements and disclosures
Input into the development of the rollout of the new global core financial system
Provision of other ad hoc support (project work and reporting) to the EMEA Data Project Manager.

Skills and experience required

The successful candidate will be newly qualified or 1 - 2 years PQE
Experience and understanding of reconciling fixed asset registers to the GL alongside monthly GL balances for legal entities across different currencies
Experience of working within a management consultancy in a similar role will be highly desirable
Forensic approach to problem solving
Understanding of balance sheets and accounting technicalities
A degree level education is desirable but not essential
Strong working knowledge of MS Excel
High levels of computer literacy and competence
Very good organisational skills, methodical in approach with high attention to detail
Proven ability to multi-task
Ability to work confidentially in all aspects of the role, as position will have direct access to financial / confidential information
Diplomatic in approach as position will have access to global senior management
Expectation of need to and willingness to 'get hands dirty'
An enthusiastic team player with strong communication skills
Ability to liaise with staff of all levels within the organisation
Adaptable and able to complete tasks without close supervision
Must be flexible over hours and prepared to work extra hours as dictated by the demands of the role
Positive, committed and prepared to use initiative
Previous experience of presenting financial data to a non-finance audience would be beneficial.
