Linguist

Linguists are sought across the UK and overseas, to join this government-backed armed forces organisation.

As a Linguist you will interpret and analyse foreign language radio emissions thereby providing military commanders with improved situational awareness to aid their decision making.

You will play a vital role in protecting the security of the UK and our allies. You might find yourself flying on-board a reconnaissance aircraft or working in ground stations at various locations.

In order to apply you will need to possess a minimum of 5 GCSEs, including English Language and Maths, and be between the ages of 17 1/2 - 32. A modern language qualification is required or evidence of an ability to learn languages may be acceptable.

TITLE: Linguist
LOCATION: Across the UK (overseas placements are also on offer)
SALARY: Approx. £34,000 after training, rising to £48,000+

- Be aged 17 1/2-32
- Hold a minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade C or above, including English Language and Maths
- A modern language qualification, or evidence of the ability to learn languages
- You must be a citizen of the United Kingdom or the Republic of Ireland or holder of a dual UK/other nationality
- You must be a UK citizen from birth
- You must have resided in the UK for the previous 10 years
