Are you a dedicated childcare practitioner with experience of leading a room looking for a new challenge?

A large, popular, charity ran nursery in the Bramley area of Leeds are recruiting for a Nursery Supervisor to lead the toddler room, working with children aged 2 to 3 years old. The position is for 40 hours a week on varied shift patterns to start after the October half term. You will initially start on a temporary contract and if you are the right candidate for the role this position will become permanent.

You will be responsible for the other practitioner in the room and work under supervision of the Nursery Manager to play a key part in the day to day running of the Nursery, helping to ensure there is a positive and safe environment for the children at all times. Flexibility is key for this role and you must have confidence in leading activities and managing challenging behaviour.

You must have a minimum of a Level 3 qualification in childcare, and have recent experience in an Early Years setting.

The main responsibilities for this role are:

To plan effective activities for children of all abilities
To organise, lead and motivate a team, and work well as part of it
To observe, monitor and provide constructive feedback on children's progress
To understand the roles of parents and carers in children's learning and demonstrate ability to liaise with parents and carers sensitively and effectively
To work independently as well as part of a team
To work creatively
To provide necessary personal care to children
To develop their knowledge through the evaluation of their own learning needs
To demonstrate very good numeracy and literacy skills
