This is an opportunity to join a leading subsea cable consultancy and engineering house, working worldwide in support of major projects in renewables, telecoms, and oil & gas.The Role:
They now require an experienced CAD Engineer/Draftsperson to work within the Engineering Team full time on a broad range of challenging projects within the subsea cable industry.
The team is responsible for delivering and managing the design, manufacture, procurement, assembly, installation, integration, and commissioning of systems in support of subsea cable installation and repair projects.
This role would particularly suit established or ambitious CAD Engineers/Draftsperson who are looking to further develop their career path and taking more project responsibility.
Responsibilities:
- Producing creative and innovative designs and concepts through the use of 2D & 3D CAD systems (Inventor).
- Producing drawings and specifications to enable manufacture/procurement of manufactured items and bought out components.
- Controlling drawing issue status and maintaining drawing resisters
- Liaising with customers and staff at all levels including engineers and technicians.
- Taking a lead role in the delivery of a range of projects, overseeing, critiquing, checking and approving drawing work.
About You:
Suitable candidates will have extensive experience of 2D & 3D CAD systems, specifically Autodesk Inventor. Experience in a similar field, and with subsea equipment will be a significant advantage and a willingness to take on additional responsibilities, including the training of newer staff members and contribution to project management is desirable.
Crucially, you should also display a good working knowledge of:
- Inventor.
- 2D and 3D CAD.
- Engineering machining and fabrication drawings.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required to interact with a range of colleagues.
