Full Time Young Persons Workers (37.5 hours per week) - vacancies in Dorchester and Weymouth Areas
Salary: £16,500 pro rata + weekend enhancements.
Benefits including Excellent & Certified Training, Childcare Voucher Scheme, Pension Scheme, Paid Mileage & Company Sick Pay (after a 6 month probationary period)

Our friendly and hardworking Young Peoples team are recruiting Support Workers to our service in Weymouth.

This is a full time post but job share will be considered.

The aim of the Support Workers role is to increases the independence and skills of Young People aged 16-21 years, promoting engagement with education and employment in a flexible and person centred approach, while living in supported accommodation.

The role will involve working closely with other supporting accommodation service providers, community mental health teams, social and private landlords, the police, probation, Youth Offending Teams , the courts, the Department of Work and Pensions, the voluntary sector, local housing authorities, education and training agencies and children's/adult social care.

The role holder helps young people to avoid eviction and repeat homelessness. They also develop the capacity of young people to be able to move on to either less intensive housing related support services or more permanent, independent, accommodation at the earliest appropriate opportunity.

For this role you must be;
* Approachable, friendly, supportive and have a passion for Young People and their future.
* Able to work with young people to build a trusting relationship based on an equal and reciprocal relationships in which we recognize and build on each other's skills and strengths
* You will need to be able to think creatively, positively and use your own initiative.
* You will be used to working in a fast-paced environment
* Developing positive working relationships with the local community and support agencies to create a network of support for your clients will be central to the work you do

The ideal Support Worker will:
* Meet client wishes
* An understanding of the needs and issues of homeless, vulnerable young people
* Knowledge of Safeguarding for Children and Adults and Domestic Abuse
* Experience of problem solving and handling difficult situations, using initiative
* Skilled at IT including excel, power point, publisher, word, face book and other forms of social media
* Able to stay on in an emergency
* Able to work shifts including evenings, weekends, sleeping nights, and able to change hours if required.

Prepared to work across other services in the cluster if required
* It is essential that you are able to drive for this role
