Student Experience Data & Policy Analyst

Description: Person Specification Knowledge and Experience Experience in generating, collating and analysing complex information for reporting purposes Experience of working in Higher Education Knowledge of widening participation and retention agendas and policy Experience of SITS or similar student records systems Technical skills and ability Excellent IT skills including working with data and conducting analysis at a high level using MS Excel (advanced functionality) Ability to use other data analysis systems (e.g. SPSS) and to synthesise data from various sources (HESA, HEIDI, survey results) Data analysis and evaluation Experience of collecting, managing and analysing a combination of quantitative and qualitative data using a range of methods and software Ability to use qualitative and quantitative data to develop appropriate monitoring and evaluation practices and to conduct evaluation on a wide range of activities Ability to summarise data and results of evaluation, present findings and make recommendations Communication skills and engaging stakeholders Excellent and broad ranging communication skills, including presentation skills and communicating information in a clear and concise way Ability to engage a range of stakeholders, with the ability to adapt tone and approach to a variety of audiences as appropriate, including written reports and presentations Prioritising and managing workload Excellent planning and organisational skills Confident and professional approach in working with colleagues across a wide range of disciplines and in different capacities : Responsibilities • Data gathering and management • Analysis • Management reporting • Evaluation and monitoring • Internal and external liaison • Training and support for others Job Category: SALC Contract: Permanent
