The Governors are keen to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated IT Network Manager with the drive and ability to further develop our IT provision. This is a wonderful opportunity for the right person to work with highly dedicated staff and motivated students and with outstanding facilities. We are looking for a manager who can develop a strategic vision and has high expectations and aspirations in regard to the use of IT throughout the academy as a whole.

As an academy, we have recently invested heavily in ICT, in order to put us at the forefront of developing technologies to aid outstanding teaching and learning. This has included new File Servers, Proxy Server and Wi-Fi system. In addition to this all ICT suites have been refurbished with brand new PC’s and Promethean Boards. We require an individual who will embrace the resources available and who has the required knowledge to drive forward the use of IT by both staff and students.

We are seeking an individual who has:

  • Excellent leadership and management skills
  • Proven experience of managing a network
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to work under their own initiative
  • A commitment to the safeguarding and pastoral care of young  people and high standards

Handsworth Wood Girls’ Academy is an 11-18 comprehensive school in the north-west of Birmingham. Our student intake is from a variety of ethnic backgrounds, making for a very harmonious and happy school. Our Ofsted inspection in May 2014 graded the academy as Outstanding, stating that “the academy provides an exceptionally high quality of education, which results in students making outstanding progress.’
