The Skills Company is currently recruiting for an Apprentice Administrator / Contract Support Officer to provide administration support for the Business Growth Hub, part of the Manchester Growth Company.

You don't need to have any previous experience of working in an office environment or as an Administrator because full training and support is provided by the expert Apprenticeship Training provision at The Skills Company.

This is an Administration Apprenticeship job opportunity so you will also be working towards an Advanced Level 3 Diploma in Business and Administration. This is a fantastic way to start a career within Business and you will learn many transferable skills.

The role

This role is within the Contracts Team at the Business Growth Hub. The Contracts Team are responsible for putting together documentation so that they can claim money from the European Regional Development Fund in order to support the different businesses that they work with. This support could include digital advice, loans and grants, mentoring and many other forms of business support.

Full training is provided and the role will involve:

* Efficient and accurate compilation of documentation
* Maintenance of the data and information required
* Evaluating and verifying partner claim submissions, both expenditure and output and results
* Review and verify delivery partner core output evidence
* Manage the receipt and logging of project output and results evidence
* Investigate expenditure and evidence queries
* Raising sales invoices
* Creating and maintaining appropriate filing and document management systems
* Provide cover for other Contract Support Officers and for the Claims Administrator as required
* Undertake general administrative tasks such as printing, copying, filing, etc. which support the efficient and effective process of managing contracts, claims, audits and other funder activities
* Professional handling of telephone calls, correspondence and dealing with queries as required

Apprenticeship training will be provided in the work place by The Skills Company. You will also receive regular on the job training and support from your Line Manager.

Apprenticeship training will include:

* Level 3 Diploma in Business and Administration
* Functional Skills in Maths, English and ICT if required

Full Time Apprenticeship opportunities are available with a minimum duration of 12 months and normally with the possibility of employment after this duration (subject to availability).

Qualifications required

Although full training will be given you should have an A-C GCSE grade or equivalent in English and Maths.

* Self-starter, able to work on own initiative prioritising workloads and tasks effectively after training
* Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills
* Ability to understand, demonstrate and apply MGC values: Make a positive difference, stronger together, empower people, do the right thing, build on success.

Desired skills

* Good organisation skills; able to manage multiple activities and work to tight deadlines
* Strong administrative skills such as accurate data processing, document control, scheduling tasks etc.
* Microsoft Office applications
* Systematic and efficient approach
* Basic understanding of finance processes, transactions and systems. (Desirable but not essential)

Post Title: Apprentice Administrator / Contract Support Offer

Location: Manchester City Centre

Hours: Monday - Friday 8.30am - 5pm 37.5 hours per week.

Salary: £320.94 per week

The National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £3.30 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged over 19 in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.
