An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced IT Support Engineer to join a fast growing IT Support company that offers great opportunities.
Experience:
You must have at least 5 years' experience in IT support and infrastructure roles, and you must currently be a 3rd line engineer or an experienced / senior 2nd line engineer looking to progress to 3rd line.
The role will involve supporting existing client infrastructure including server, storage, network, data and applications as well as project based work to improve and enhance the infrastructure environment.
IT is your passion and you will be very experienced and knowledgeable in this domain. You will have exceptional client management skills and the ability to work with stakeholders and their interests.
You will ideally hold a current CCNP, VCP, MCSE, or MCP qualifications and you may be educated to degree level in an IT related discipline. Your own communication and client management skills will be second to none, and you will have a calm, methodological approach to troubleshooting a wide variety of issues and an eye for detail.
You will have experience in leading a small team and / or IT projects (e.g. network, mail and server migrations), with confidence to delegate tasks and mentor less experienced team members.
The successful IT Support Engineer will have excellent experience and working knowledge of;
- Proven detailed knowledge and experience with Microsoft Server, Active Directory & Microsoft Exchange technologies
- Build, Configuration & troubleshooting of Windows 2008, 2012 & 2016 Server
- Troubleshooting and Administration of Exchange 2010, 2013, 2016 & Office 365
- Virtual Environment experience (VMware, HyperV).
- Network Topologies (LAN/WAN, DNS, DHCP, TCP/P)
- MS Windows Desktops (Windows 7, 8 & 10)
- Routers/switches, WAP etc.
- IT security (firewalls, antivirus etc.)
- Cloud Services - Google Apps, Office 365 & One Drive
Key requirements/ skills/experience;
- Team and / or project management skills
- Ability to Handle escalated calls from first/second line IT Helpdesk
- Writing / Updating User and System Documentation
- Excellent communication skills (both internally and with clients)

- Ability to prioritise support issues
- Delivering third line support and infrastructure projects
- Demonstrating the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues
- Planning and recommending enhancements to ensure that IT capacity meets current and future business requirements in a cost effective manner
- Managing IT projects to meet pre-defined objectives
The ideal candidate will be capable of interacting with clients at a very high level, as well as being technically competent and highly motivated. The role is a split between BAU and Project work for both existing and new business clients.
