Head Teacher, Springfield Primary School & Bonnytoun Nursery School, 35 hours per week, closing date 4th December 2016

Springfield Primary School and Bonnytoun Nursery School are jointly managed.

Springfield Primary School is a semi open plan, non-denominational school situated in the town of Linlithgow. The school is part of the Linlithgow Academy cluster of schools. Staffing consists of a Head teacher, Depute Head teacher and 14 class teachers, a part time Support for Learning teacher, two Reduced Class Contact Science teachers, specialist teachers for P.E, Music, Brass and Strings. There are also full time pupil and part time support workers who support learners across the school. Staff demonstrate strong collegiality and teamwork and this maintains the positive climate for learning in the school.  The school roll currently stands at 352.

Bonnytoun Nursery School is situated within its own grounds adjacent to the primary school.

It is a purpose built nursery serving the community of Linlithgow. Staffing consists a Principal Teacher, an Early Years officer, 4 nursery nurses, 1 pupil support worker, 2 wraparound staff and a part time clerical assistant.  

Nursery has 30 morning and 30 afternoon session as well as 48 full day children, who receive their 600 hours entitlement over 2 full days.  The nursery has well established links with its receiving primary schools in Linlithgow.

Springfield Primary School and Bonnytoun Nursery School have strong partnerships with parents and carers who support the work of the school. There is a very supportive Parent Council and PTA who are actively involved in the life of the school. The School Breakfast Club and ‘Out of School’ Care Club are well used families.

From 28 February 2011 preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
