Project Planner – Construction
Southampton
Salary £45,000 + 25 days Holiday + Pension + Life Assurance 4 x Salary + Laptop + iPhone
A respected cost management, quantity surveying and project management consultancy based in Southampton is searching for a construction Planner to join the team.
A fantastic opportunity for an intermediate Project Planner to join a multinational consultancy
This role would suit someone already performing as a intermediate project planner or Scheduler working in the construction sector.
It would also appeal to Project Manager or Contract Manager who has planning skills and a good knowledge of using MS Project.
KEY DUTIES OF THE ROLE:
The Project Planner will be responsible for developing and implementing the project programme for tenders and construction phase and managing the overall programme for the business.
In additional you will be a key player in both the pre-construction and post construction phases of new build contracts and refurbishment contracts.
Capable of producing programmes / method statements for various project types including Local Authority, Residential, Commercial and Industrial.
Able to demonstrate excellent understanding of the construction industry and the building process.
IT literate with a good understanding of MS Project programming software.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills at all levels.
The ability to work under pressure to deadlines.
Attention to detail.
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Understanding of the key features of common forms of contract.
WHAT IS NEEDED TO APPLY FOR THE ROLE?
You will need uk construction experience.
A good understanding of new build design, procurement, production and commissioning processes.
Experience in JCT / NEC forms of contract
Possess good knowledge and experience with MS Project / Asta.
Strong communication skills, capable of working as part of a multifunctional team.
A proactive team player who is assertive and who possesses strong negotiation and skills.
