This company is the industry leader of imported private and exclusive tyre brands, including Davanti, Evergreen and Landsail. Established in 1980, the company has grown rapidly over recent years, and now employs over 270 people. In the past 2 years alone, the company has opened two new major distribution hubs as part of its ambitious and on-going expansion strategy.

They are currently looking for an experienced Depot Manager to take control of their Haydock Depot. As Depot Manager you would be accountable for a growing team. You will need to have the organisational skills that would allow you to delegate tasks to the relevant departmental manager and general depot staff in order to ensure a smooth operation.

Reporting to the Site Operations Manager your main duties and responsibilities will include:
- Communication with field and telesales team.
- Ensuring staff provide the highest level of customer service.
- Stock Integrity.
- Manage a team of approximately 100 staff.
- Optimise staff productivity to manage costs.
- Ensure staff are managed to pick orders correctly and promptly.
- Arrange required staff training.
- Manage picking errors.
- Monitor company vehicles to ensure policies are being followed.
- Delegation of tasks to the departmental managers and follow up to ensure the assigned tasks are completed.
- Ensure that drivers optimise their van runs.
- Ensure the vans get loaded correctly and resolve issues if they are not.
- Monitor performance of staff.
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping.
- Ensure Health and Safety rules are adhered to.
- Enforce security policies and procedures.
- Effective holiday planning.
- Occasionally carry out deliveries where the needs of the company require it.
- Pick orders where the needs of the business require it.
- Reporting any issues to the management team at Head Office and having the ability to resolve such issues individually.
- Working 48 hours a week over 5 ½ days - Monday to Friday and Saturday Morning.
- Working hours will generally be worked at times between 6:00am and 7:30pm.

Requirements and conditions
- Full driver's licence is required. A clean licence is preferred but we will consider applicant with points, depending on the amount incurred and the nature of the offences committed.
- Flexible working attitude. You may be required to work beyond the normal hours depending on the needs of the company.
- Must have the ability to work calmly under pressure.

Other Information
- 20 paid holidays per annum (accrued pro-rata) plus all bank and public holiday.
- Salary would be £27,710. plus bonus.
- Fork Lift and Counterbalance licences would be beneficial for this role but training could be provided.
